Spring!!!

Spring forward.. I always love the time change. Longer days, more sunlight.. Today day was such a beautiful 70 degree Sunday, Chris and I spent most of the day outside getting the yard ready for spring.. I can't wait for the grass to come in! I'm tired of seeing all the brown dead grass around!! The kids had a blast playing outside and enjoying the weather all day long.. Spring is also my busy time of year and I can not wait! I have a great Easter special and it's booking up so fast!! I also have a wedding coming up in May along with another wedding later in the year.. All exciting.. But what I'm most excited about is buying my new camera! The Canon 7d .. I have to come up with half of the money and my amazing husband said he would pay for the other half!! It's a lot for a camera but it will definitely pay for it self in no time. I can't wait to experiment with it. I know my pictures will be even better once I have it!! Today has been such a long day and I'm sure I'll sleep great! Night!!

Just Venting

What's a "professional photographer"? A Professional photographer typically earns their living through photography, and has a passion for capturing some of your most precious moments.. What does NOT make you a professional photographer? A big expensive camera, with an even bigger ego! I have met many photographers with big egos, I my biggest pet peeve is someone who acts like they are better than everyone else!

Camera bags for women

So I've been in search of a camera bag.. But not just any camera bag. I want something feminine and fashionable. Which in code means costly, I have yet to find one at a decent price.. I've searched and come across many that I like but I still can't decide. And of course there's the question.. How much is too much for a camera bag? I don't know.. But here are some of the the best ones I've found!

A little introduction..

After the birth of my children I became very interested in photography, I worked for a while in a studio (Olan Mills) I learned very quickly that working in a studio that was not my own wasn't for me. I didn't like the high prices, and the packages that include the same photo over and over in different sizes. So I decided to go in business for myself, I purchased my first camera and got to work. First photographing friends and family, and then spreading by word of mouth. I absolutely love my job as photographer. Job? I don't know if I can call it a job, I've never loved a job as much as I love photography, Its more like my passion! I've been into photography for almost 4 years now. I get excited every time I schedule a session, and there's always something new to learn. Last year I got the chance to work with another photographer in 2 different weddings and even photographed 2 by myself in the fall. I'm very excited that I've already scheduled 2 weddings for this year, the first in May and the second in August!

When trying to decide on a name for my blog, I thought about one of my favorite songs right now.. 'This is the stuff' by Francesca Battistelli. And it was perfect for my blog title.. This really is the stuff that means the most. However this also has another meaning to me! 'This is the Stuff' is truly my theme song. I am so forgetful and I really believe I have short term memory loss. The first paragraph of the song describes me saying this.

I lost my keys in the great unknown
And call me please 'Cuz I can't find my phone

This is the stuff that drives me crazy

This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use
